We have been all over the country this year from London right up to Aberdeen. Last weekend we played a nice local gig for us back in the North West, at the Thistle Atlantic Tower which is opposite the Pier Head in Liverpool. We arrived early just in case we had to take all our gear up to the top floor! Fortunately the function room was on the first floor. The sound was really good in this room due to the low ceilings and the fact that we were facing away from the glazed wall.

Craig and Lucy were a great couple who approached us back in 2014 and asked us to play for them at their wedding. We loved their musical tastes, which included some classic rock and punk and they specifically asked us to avoid the cheese! From our repertoire, they made a few requests for us to build the set around, including Baggy Trousers and Let’s Dance.

Because of their tastes we were able to throw in some tracks we haven’t played for a while such as Sweet Child o’ Mine and Back in Black as well as some new tracks. Disco Inferno and The Boys are Back in Town are two a new additions to our repertoire and both were very well received and gave Aaron, Nick and Damien the opportunity to flex their (backing) vocal chords!

We really enjoyed playing for Craig, Lucy and their friends and family, who clearly had a brilliant night. One of the staff at the hotel even said they had never seen any other wedding band have the dance floor so busy from start to finish.

Funnily enough for the next three weeks all of our gigs are in the North West area including Liverpool, Chester and Manchester so nice and local for us. We have the Edge Hill University Students Ball at Aintree Racecourse this weekend. The client has asked for a party band with a really eclectic mix of music. With our extensive repertoire this will be no problem. This one will also give us an opportunity to pull out the full PA rig system as it is a big room with over 300 guests expected – and Aaron does love getting his toys out! Then the following weekend is a wedding in Liverpool City Centre and following that we are in Wallasey which takes us into June when the wedding season will be in full swing!
