Party Band WirralCheshire and Merseyside Band Slinky Prove Major Corporate Success
Slinky are a North West party band that have been playing around Liverpool, Birmingham, Preston and the whole of Merseyside since 2003. Covering all genres of music from the rock and soul influences of the 1960’s up to hit 2000’s tracks from Snow Patrol, The Script and Kasabian, the band have proved to be a musical success at weddings, conferences and functions for over nine years.
Aaron Croxford, lead bassist and producer for Slinky has built a name for himself in the local area and is enjoying the success the band are now finding further afield. Croxford notes, “Most people in Merseyside know of Slinky by now – we’ve been playing venues in Warrington, Chester, Liverpool, and Manchester for a long time but it’s great going down to London and Brighton and playing to new audiences.”
Catering for weddings and events in their local area of Merseyside and Cheshire is just the tip of the iceberg for Slinky, quoted recently in the local newspaper as “simply one of the best rock bands to come out of the Wirral.” The new found success across the whole of the UK has opened the band up to a whole new vista. Croxford continues, “We love playing rock, northern soul and music straight out of Manchester’s Hacienda – but audiences across the country want different things and it’s a learning curve. We are experimenting a little and it seems to be exactly what people want to hear.”
Typically you’ll hear the band playing hits from Oasis, Blur, Bruno Marrs and Plan B to name a few but if you want to book Slinky for wedding near you, you can customize the set list to suit your special occasion. Slinky are no strangers to performing First Dance Tracks for Clients on their big day and also offer free an evening Acoustic Set or DJ Service. “The acoustic sets are always a major success,” notes Nick Studholme, guitarist for the band. “They work great in a restaurant setting or for champagne receptions at weddings. The huge, full sound we can provide is great for a party atmosphere but sometimes people want something a little more subdued and we love creating that relaxed atmosphere.”
